Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Click Register at the top right, fill in your username, email, and password, then click Create Account. You'll be signed in immediately.
Is RealMarket only for students?
Anyone in Zimbabwe can browse and buy. Selling is open to students, campus shops, service providers, and EcoCash agents.
Which campuses are supported?
We cover 20+ institutions including UZ, NUST, MSU, HIT, CUT, Africa University, Great Zimbabwe University, Bindura, Lupane, and all major polytechnics. Select Other / Off-Campus if yours isn't listed.
Buying
How do I contact a seller?
Open any product listing and tap the green WhatsApp Seller button. This opens a pre-filled WhatsApp chat directly with the seller. No payments are processed on RealMarket — deals are settled directly between buyer and seller.
Are prices negotiable?
That's between you and the seller. Many campus sellers are open to negotiation — just ask politely on WhatsApp.
How do I save a product for later?
Click the heart icon on any product card or detail page. Find all your saved items under Account → My Favourites.
Selling
How do I post a product?
Sign in, then click Sell in the navigation bar. Fill in the product title, price, category, location, description, and an optional photo. Click Post Product and it goes live instantly.
Is it free to list?
Yes — posting products on RealMarket is completely free.
How do I edit or remove a listing?
Go to My Products from your account menu. Click Edit to update details, or Delete to permanently remove the listing.
What WhatsApp number format should I use?
Enter your number in international format without the + sign, e.g. 263771234567 for a Zimbabwean number starting with 077.
Trust & Safety
What does the Verified badge mean?
Verified sellers have submitted a student ID or business document and been approved by the RealMarket team. Look for the Verified badge on seller profiles.
How do I get verified?
Go to Account → Get Verified, fill in your organisation details, upload your ID document, and submit. Our team reviews requests within 24 hours.
How do I report a suspicious listing?
Email us at support@realmarket.co.zw with the product link and a description of your concern. We respond within 24 hours.
Tips for safe trading
- Always meet in a public place on campus (library, student centre).
- Inspect the item before paying.
- Prefer EcoCash or cash — avoid advance bank transfers to strangers.
- Check the seller's profile rating and reviews before buying.
- Never share your password or personal financial details.
